The Los Angeles Lakers have been on a tear in February, having gone 8-2 since the blockbuster Luka Doncic trade. On Friday night, they will have a chance to end the month on a high note against the Los Angeles Clippers. Both teams have split the season series so far, so this will be a big game for both sides.
However, while the Lakers have been playing well and are now just 1.5 games behind the Memphis Grizzlies for the No. 2 seed in the West, they may have to overcome a major obstacle against the Clippers following the latest injury update on Doncic.
Doncic has appeared in six games as a member of the Lakers, having only missed one so far. However, he may be out of action against the Clippers.
According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Doncic is considered a game-time decision due to left calf injury management.

While the Lakers have been successful since acquiring Doncic, it is clear that there is a lot more potential left to be untapped.
In his short tenure with the Lakers so far, the Slovenian native is averaging 19.3 points, 9.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. While these numbers are solid on the surface, they are not Doncic's best. Furthermore, he is shooting just 36.5% from the field and 22.4% from beyond the arc as a Laker.
It seems inevitable that he will turn it up in the future, but until then, the Lakers must continue their push as they continue to inch closer to the playoffs.
