As the New York Knicks look to finalize their roster heading into the new season, they are reaching out to teams to trade a player Mike Brown recently praised.

The New York Knicks did a fabulous job this summer when it comes to their roster. The firing of Mike Thibodeau was the first domino to fall.

The Knicks signed several depth pieces this offseason, bringing in Guerschon Yabusele, Jordan Clarkson, Landry Shamet, and Malcolm Brogdon.

While Mike Brown has done a good job using these stars in his first two preseason wins over the Philadelphia 76ers, the Knicks front office knows they can’t sign all of them without some changes.

If the Knicks want to keep both Landry Shamet and Malcolm Brogdon, they need to make a trade due to cap restrictions. And it could be a young star who impressed in Abu Dhabi.

New York Knicks hoping to trade Pacome Dadiet, have made calls to other teams

Jake Fischer put out a report on The Stein Line recently. On the topic of the New York Knicks, Fischer revealed the Knicks know they need to make a trade to keep both Landry Shamet and Malcolm Brogdon.

It appears the Knicks are looking to trade Pacome Dadiet and have made several calls to gauge interest. In fact, some teams think that the Knicks played Dadiet in Abu Dhabi to convince other teams of his skill.

“To keep both Malcolm Brogdon and Landry Shamet on their Opening Night roster, as we’ve covered extensively, New York is going to have to trade someone.

“And the focus for that trade has been on former first-round pick Pacome Dadiet ever since the Knicks signed the two veterans to Exhibit 9 contracts.

“Sources tell The Stein Line that Knicks, in fact, have indeed already called several teams to gauge interest in Dadiet.

“Then the Knicks started Dadiet against the Sixers on Thursday in the first of the teams’ two games in Abu Dhabi, which certainly got the attention of some rival front offices.

“When I was working the phones Friday, numerous teams were convinced New York had Dadiet in the starting lineup purely to showcase him to potential trade partners.”

Mike Brown said Pacome Dadiet could be a defensive monster recently

After the Knicks’ second win over the 76ers, Mike Brown praised Pacome Dadiet for his potential, saying he could be a defensive monster, but he needed to play with more focus and hunger.

“He could be a monster defensively. He’s just got to play with a sense of urgency defensively and awareness every single possession.”

Dadiet being traded might be the Knicks’ best way out of their current conundrum. Especially since the Knicks don’t want to trade Miles McBride, as they see a lot of value in him.

We’ll wait and see what happens with the Knicks, but expect Dadiet to go to a team that can absorb his salary without having to send anything in return.
