The recruitment for Caleb Wilson, a five-star recruit in the Class of 2025, was down to North Carolina and Kentucky, a pair of college basketball bluebloods.
Wilson is a 6-foot-9 power forward and is ranked as the No. 5 recruit in the class, per On3's Joe Tipton.
Late on Thursday night, Wilson announced his decision and decided to commit to North Carolina. Wilson made the decision on "Inside The NBA" on TNT after the game between the Los Angeles Lakers and Boston Celtics.
"I'll be taking my talents to Chapel Hill," Wilson said on the broadcast after thanking God and his coaches.

Per Tipton, Wilson revealed why he chose North Carolina over Kentucky:
“I chose UNC because of their rich basketball culture and their historical presence in college basketball history,” Wilson said. “I believe in Coach Davis and he believes in me so I feel all I need to do is prove us right.”
Wilson is a massive commitment to North Carolina's program going forward.
He is a five-star recruit, and he plays at Holy Innocents Episcopal School in Georgia. While the decision came down to Kentucky and North Carolina, Wilson had plenty of offers from major programs.
Some of those offers include Arkansas, Alabama, Auburn, Duke, Tennessee and USC.
North Carolina has also landed commitments from a pair of four-star players in the class: Derek Dixon and Isaiah Denis.
In 2024-25, North Carolina has been up and down. As of Friday morning, the Tar Heels have a 12-8 overall record and are coming off back-to-back one-point losses to Stanford and Wake Forest.
Still, the future is bright for the men's basketball program at North Carolina, and landing a five-star talent such as Wilson is a big boost for the program.
