The Indiana Pacers have yet to win an NBA championship. They came close to that goal a number of times before, but failed each time.

Nevertheless, Indiana now has another golden chance to finally remove itself from the list of ringless NBA teams, as Tyrese Haliburton and company are just four wins away in the 2024-25 season from having a league championship parade in the Hoosier State.

The Pacers will be in enemy territory in the first two games of the 2025 NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who will host Game 1 and Game 2 at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City this Thursday and Sunday, respectively.

Despite the Pacers being away from Indianapolis during those contests, their fans back home are showing full support for the team.

When the Pacers announced on Tuesday that they would be giving away free merch to the first 5,000 fans in a vehicle to line up on one side of the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, many made their plans.

On Wednesday, the Pacers announced that they had already emptied their supply, with so many fans showing up. That also meant that many others were not able to get the freebies.

From Indiana’s post: “Pacers fans, you showed out! The response to our NBA Finals gear grab has been incredible and it's been amazing to see so many fans showing support for our team and our city. Unfortunately, we are officially out of giveaway packs. If you were planning to head to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, please hold off. We are so grateful for your energy and support of the team.”

The Pacers are making their first NBA Finals appearance since 2000.

To get to the final stage of the 2025 NBA Playoffs, Indiana eliminated the Milwaukee Bucks in five games in the first round, upset the Cleveland Cavaliers in five games in the second round and outlasted the New York Knicks in six games in the Eastern Conference finals.
