Despite making a late push last season, the Golden State Warriors were eliminated in the second round of the 2025 NBA Playoffs.

While Jimmy Butler’s addition made the Golden State Warriors a solid team in the second half of the regular season, they failed to recreate the same level of magic in the postseason.

Moreover, with Butler already being 35 years old, it was clear from the start that he wouldn’t elevate the team for a longer period.

Additionally, the dynamic duo of Stephen Curry (37) and Draymond Green (35) isn’t getting any younger. So, what does that mean the Warriors’ championship window has already closed?

Paul George believes there is ‘still juice’ in the Golden State Warriors’ core

Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George addressed the Warriors’ championship window on a recent episode of Podcast P.

He was joined by former NBA player Baron Davis, who believes the Dubs need a young star to get over the hump. On the other hand, George thinks the Warriors’ current core is more than enough.

“I like what they’ve got going on over there,” George said.

But what about the X-Factor? The 76ers’ star thinks the Dubs already have that in Jonathan Kuminga.

“He [Kuminga] can play in a big lineup, and he can play in a small lineup. He guards, he defends, so I like what they got. I think they do have enough.

“There is still juice in Steph and Draymond, and Jimmy. So, I do think they got enough,” George added.

While George is convinced about the talent of the current roster, let’s not forget that the offseason has been full of rumors about Kuminga’s departure.

With Kevon Looney already out, Kuminga’s exit could lead to George changing his stance on the Warriors and agreeing to Davis in the future.

Is Jonathan Kuminga returning to the Golden State Warriors?

During the final phase of last season, head coach Steve Kerr took Kuminga out of the rotation. Since then, the rumor mill has suggested Kuminga’s departure from the team is imminent.

However, after months of trade rumors, a recent report suggests that Kuminga could return to the Warriors.

Unfortunately, there is a special condition attached to it, and it’s the Warriors agreeing to trade Kuminga before the next season’s NBA Trade Deadline.

Now, that’s difficult. After all, getting Kuminga for half a season wouldn’t aid the Warriors in extending their championship window with Curry and Butler.
