Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks: Odds and best bet

Phoenix hits Dallas looking to close their road trip on a winning note. It has been a very successful trip so far, with the Suns posting a 4-0 SU record. They are 3-1 ATS, too. Phoenix has the best record in the league, and the only area of concern heading into Thursday night is the questionable status of center Deandre Ayton.

Dallas has quietly been matching Memphis in the month of January. They are 9-1 after beating Toronto Wednesday night at home as Luka Doncic had another strong game. It was not quite a triple-double, but he scored 41 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. He has been awesome in January, too, probably not a coincidence in terms of team success either.

Thursday is going to be a tough spot. Dallas has been solid in back-to-back situations but when they are a home underdog the markets tend to get it right. Dallas is 1-5 SUATS in that role this season.

Best Bet

Phoenix Suns -2.5

I don't know if the Suns are the best team in the NBA or not, but they might be. They have been great in January, too, posting a 7-1 SU record (6-1-1 ATS). They can beat anyone, anywhere. As a result, you rarely get a price like this on a game. Only three times all season long have they been favored by less than three points and they are a perfect 3-0 SUATS in this situation. When you add in that Dallas is likely gassed for this matchup, I think we are looking at a very easy win for the Suns at a great price.

Prop Bet to Consider

Mikal Bridges Over 1.5 Three-Pointers Made (+144)

Bridges does not get a lot of publicity for his role on the Suns. He does get plenty of playing time though and he has a green light to take shots because he is so smart with his shot selection. When I am looking at props I am looking for + payoffs where possible, which is how this one caught my eye. In January, he has made more than 1 3-pointer in half of his games. At this price, against a tired Dallas team, he is a high value bet.
