Pistons Predicted to Trade Tobias Harris for $195 Million Star in Offseason Blockbuster

The Detroit Pistons were one of the better stories in the NBA this season.

Going from last place in the Eastern Conference to the No. 6 seed in the NBA Playoffs was one of the best one-year turnarounds in the NBA's history.

The 30-win improvement was the first time in league history that a team more than tripled its win total from the previous season.

Pistons predicted to trade Tobias Harris for $195 million star

While the Pistons were eventually bounced from the playoffs by the New York Knicks, their two wins were the first playoff wins by Detroit since 2008.

If the Pistons want more than just a flash-in-the-pan type of year, they'll almost certainly be active during free agency and the trade market in the offseason.

In a mock trade by Sportskeeda's Ethen Hutton, the Pistons could be on the cusp of a big trade.

He has the Pistons sending Tobias Harris, Marcus Sasser, Ron Holland II, first-round picks in 2028 and 2030 and a second-round pick in 2027 from the Dallas Mavericks.

In exchange, the Pistons would receive Lauri Markkanen. His combination of size and shooting touch would help the Pistons stretch the floor a bit more than they currently do.

They also wouldn't need to rely on him for rebounding if they had him with Jalen Duren or Isaiah Stewart.

A move like this would put the Pistons in immediate contention in the Eastern Conference, especially if Boston is hampered after Jayson Tatum's ruptured Achilles and if Milwaukee pulls the trigger on a Giannis Antetokounmpo deal that could send him West.
