Precious Achiuwa Remains Out for Raptors
USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Raptors will once again be without Precious Achiuwa on Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Achiuwa is continuing to battle a left groin strain that kept him out of

previous game Monday night against the Portland Trail Blazers. It’s the same injury that Achiuwa dealt with throughout most of the team’s preseason schedule.

“He is doing much better,” Raptors coach Darko Rajaković said pregame and the team remains hopeful Achiuwa should miss too much time.

Achiuwa will have to go through at least one live contact drill before returning to the court, Rajaković said. It’s possible Achiuwa could clear that hurtle during pre-game warm-ups Thursday against the Philadelphia 76ers.

In the meantime, the Raptors will continue to lean on Chris Boucher off the bench. Toronto will need more from its backup bigs this year as the team’s defensive rebounding has fallen apart every time Jakob Poeltl has gone to the bench.

The Bucks will have MarJon Beauchamp available after listing him as probable to play with an illness.
