Lowry is the fifth-oldest active NBA player at 38 years and 108 days old. He is only younger than Taj Gibson, Chris Paul, P.J. Tucker and LeBron James.

Lowry had signed a one-year, $2.8 million deal with the 76ers back in February after he was bought out by the Charlotte Hornets. The deal reunited Lowry with former Raptors coach Nick Nurse. Lowry and Nurse helped the Raptors win their first NBA Championship in 2019.

Lowry averaged 8.1 points, 3.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 23 regular season games with Philadelphia last season.

He averaged 7.0 points and 4.0 assists in 6 playoff games before the 76ers were eliminated by the New York Knicks.

At this stage of his career, Lowry will provide the 76ers with a veteran presence. Philadelphia has made some big splashes this offseason. The team is gearing up for a potential championship run in the 2024-25 season.

The 76ers have formed the league’s newest big three which features the 2022-23 MVP Joel Embiid, the 2023-24 Most Improved Player Tyrese Maxey and nine-time All-Star Paul George.

The 76ers are still looking for their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since 2001. With the amount of talent on the roster, the 76ers will have major expectations this season.

Raptors at a crossroads with Gary Trent Jr.

Gary Trent Jr., the 25-year-old guard who has played the last three and a half seasons with the Toronto Raptors, finds himself in a challenging position as he remains unsigned this offseason.

Recent developments have shed light on his contract negotiations and potential future in the NBA.
