The Toronto Raptors have moved on from DJ Carton.
The Raptors have waived the guard per TSN’s Josh Lewenberg, which opens up a two-way slot on their roster.
Carton had signed a two-way contract with the Raptors back in March.
The 24-year-old played in 8 games total with the Raptors including this season and last, averaging 1.8 points and 1.0 rebound in 8.6 minutes.
The Raptors still have many guards available to them, despite them waiving Carton. With Bruce Brown’s eventual return, the team could look to add a wing or forward to the roster on a two-way deal.
Carton had played 3 games with the Raptors 905. With the 905, he was averaging 17.3 points, 7.0 assists and 4.7 rebounds. The Raptors do not hold his G League rights.
Carton has been dealing with foot and ankle injuries since November and despite flashing a lot of potential, health has not been on his side.
The Toronto Raptors have provided and update on forward Scottie Barnes and guard Immanuel Quickley.
Barnes recently sprained his right ankle in a matchup against the New York Knicks, while Quickley continues to deal with a sprained left UCL.
