According to Shams Charania of ESPN, the Boston Celtics will only trade Jaylen Brown and Derrick White for an “insurmountable package.”

The Celtics, who have to make trades this offseason to avoid having the most expensive roster in the NBA next season, are not expected to trade Brown, White or Jayson Tatum

Brown, who won the 2024 Finals MVP Award, will make $53,142,264 next season. The All-Star averaged 22.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists this season. He underwent right knee surgery recently.

Meanwhile, White will make $28,100,000 next season. He averaged 16.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.1 blocks this season.

The Celtics, who were sold for $6 billion, are a second apron team. A group led by Bill Chisholm, managing partner at Symphony Technology Group, agreed to purchase the Boston franchise.

Boston lost to the New York Knicks in the conference semifinals this year after winning the championship last year. Tatum could miss all of next season recovering from his right Achilles tendon tear.

Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis and Sam Hauser could be traded this offseason.
