Report: Kawhi Leonard’s investigations nearing the end

The report states that the NBA’s investigation is “over” and that they are now deciding whether to impose a punishment. All this started when the league found out that the Los Angeles Clippers had been giving him money through a bankrupt company (Aspiration) that Clippers owner Steve Ballmer had ties to. The first time this news broke was all the way back on July 14th of last year, so it’s been over a year now that this information has been public.

Toronto decided to reunite with their 2019 Finals MVP after sending off Brandon Ingram and struggling young talent Gradey Dick, plus some draft capital (2 first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, two second-round picks in 2030 and 2033 and a first-round pick swap in 2027) in return for Kawhi Leonard. Should he be punished, it is uncertain what the Raptors would do, but Vorkunov believes that the trade will still go through.

Leonard is coming off a career year of averaging a career-high 27.9 points per game while playing the fifth most amount of regular season games of his 14-year career.

Leonard was spotted at Kyle Lowry’s retirement press conference with Toronto and looks like he wants to be a Toronto Raptor for the rest of his career, as reports also stated that he is willing to sign an extension this time around after picking up a new agent.
