Kyrie Irving has made it known he would like to see some changes to Brooklyn's roster.  Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The 2019-20 NBA season has proven to be a downright failure for the Brooklyn Nets less than a calendar year after acquiring stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

No matter what happens once the season does resume, the Nets must improve their roster in order to be seen as legit contenders moving forward.

According to Stefan Bondy of the NY Daily News, that could potentially include trading for Washington Wizards star guard Bradley Beal. At the very least, Brooklyn’s brass is having internal conversations about a potential blockbuster deal.

A move of this ilk would be incredibly hard to pull off for general manager Sean Marks and Co. First, there are no suggestions that the downtrodden Wizards are looking to trade the face of their franchise. With John Wall sidelined all season to an Achilles injury, the 26-year-old Beal is averaging a whopping 30.5 points to go with 4.2 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game.

The second issue here is Brooklyn’s ability to offer up the necessary talent and assets to Washington while coming close to matching salaries.

The starting-off point here would likely have to be young big man Jarrett Allen and stud guard Spencer Dinwiddie.

Even with those two, salaries wouldn’t come close to matching. Washington would then have to take on DeAndre Jordan’s contract and that of Garrett Temple. This would require Brooklyn throwing in multiple first-round picks. That’s under the belief that a package surrounding Allen and Dinwiddie would be enough.

Either way, it’s rather clear that the Nets are looking to form a super team in Brooklyn following the conclusion of the 2019-20 season. Even if it’s not Mr. Beal, expect a pretty big move from the organization.
