Report: Nuggets' Nikola Jokic tests negative for coronavirus, but misses flight to Orlando

Last week, Denver Nuggets coach Michael Malone told reporters that center Nikola Jokic was feeling well after Jokic tested positive for the coronavirus in Serbia, and that the club expected the big man would make a July 7 flight to the NBA's bubble site in Orlando.

Things reportedly didn't go as smoothly as hoped.

On Tuesday, ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk wrote that Jokic tested negative for the virus in Serbia but ultimately missed the team flight to Florida. Throughout his travels that included multiple flights, Jokic had to produce four negative test results -- two in Serbia and then two in the United States. In the end, time was against the 25-year-old.

Youngmisuk added this news shouldn't alarm Denver fans. A player left behind on Tuesday for any reason can join his team after he produces a pair of negative test results.

Jokic was averaging 20.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per night when the Association suspended play on March 11 because of the pandemic.
