According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Detroit Pistons want to re-sign Malik Beasley and Dennis Schroder

Beasley and Schroder become unrestricted free agents this summer.

The Pistons made the playoffs this year for the first time since 2019. Although they lost to the New York Knicks in the first round in games, Detroit has a bright future.

Beasley appeared in all 82 games for the Pistons this season. He averaged 16.3 points while shooting 43.0% from the field, 41.6% from 3 and 67.9% from the free-throw line.

“In my whole nine years in the NBA, I never had this much fun coming to the gym,” Beasley said after the Pistons were eliminated from the playoffs by the Knicks. “I’ve been through a lot of stuff just this year alone. Every day coming in was probably the best thing that happened to me. Coach J.B. (Bickerstaff) and Trajan (Langdon) did an amazing job making sure when you come in here, it’s fun, it’s energetic, and it’s a place where you want to be. It’s definitely a place I want to be.”

The Pistons acquired Schroder from the Golden State Warriors in February. Schroder appeared in 28 games with Detroit. The veteran guard averaged 10.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 5.3 assists while shooting 37.8% from the field, 30.2% from 3 and 83.3% from the free-throw line.
