The Minnesota Timberwolves have spoken to the Phoenix Suns about a Kevin Durant trade.

Some believe the Timberwolves are the favorite to land Durant, who is close friends with Anthony Edwards

However, according to Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic, Minnesota is not close to trading for Durant.

Durant turns 37 in September. He averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.2 assists for the Suns this season while shooting 52.7% from the field, 43.0% from beyond the arc and 83.9% from the free-throw line.

A top 75 player of all time, Durant has career averages of 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.4 assists with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, Brooklyn Nets and Suns.

KD won the 2014 MVP Award with the Thunder and back-to-back rings and Finals MVPs with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018.

Durant is also a four-time scoring champion.

Along with the Timberwolves, Durant has been linked to the Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers and New York Knicks in trade talks.

Durant doesn’t have a no-trade clause in his contract, so he can’t pick his next team.

Since leaving the Warriors in 2019, Durant has been swept in the first round of the playoffs twice. The NBA legend hasn’t gotten back to the conference finals since departing Golden State.

Durant is sixth in NBA history in points per game and eighth in points.
