Rich Paul: Can 'absolutely' see LeBron James playing to unheard of age

The LeBron James era of the NBA may not be winding down anytime soon, contrary to his comments after a tough postseason loss to the Denver Nuggets.

While the Los Angeles Lakers being swept by the Nuggets in the Western Conference Finals surely left many players feeling a bit iffy, super agent Rich Paul not only all but shut down the idea of James retiring now, he can imagine him doing the near-unthinkable.

While speaking to SiriusXM NBA Radio's Frank Isola and Sarah Kustok, Paul was asked if he can envision a world where LeBron plays until he's 43, 44 or 45. After stating that James is "one guy I'm not going to say no about" when it comes to that, he proceeded to talk about the factors that weigh into James' motivation.

Paul proceeded to say James can "literally play for as long as he wants to" and, shortly after, said that he can "absolutely" see it under a few circumstances.

"As long as his mind is there, as long he's still excited about playing the game, in addition to the health, then absolutely [he could play for many more years]," Paul stated.

Here's a look at the full breakdown from Paul and his detailed answer on James and the potential for him to play into his 40s.

It's hard to argue with anything said here, especially when factoring in that James doesn't appear to have lost a step at all. He averaged the second-most points per game in 2022-23 over the past 13 years at 28.9, with the only season higher being 2021-22 when he put posted 30.3 points per game.

Even with that being said, James increased his rebounds (8.2 per game to 8.3) and assists (6.2 per game to 6.8) while cutting down his turnovers from 3.5 to 3.2 per game from two seasons ago in comparison to this past year.
