Houston Rockets star Kevin Durant is embroiled in a new drama, and this time, it’s about his alleged ties to a burner account on X. During the all-star weekend festivities, multiple screenshots from a certain user went viral on the social media platform.

The messages were deemed too personal for everybody’s taste, and that’s why it blew up. Add to that the fact that KD was seen using his phone before playing on the court, and people can’t help but label him the culprit. Curiously, though, one controversial personality has seemingly defended the two-time champ in this controversy – Klutch Sports President Rich Paul.

“What I do know is, these guys have to always be on. They never get an opportunity to be themselves or what people want them to be. So, I don’t know. I don’t get into Burner accounts,” Rich Paul said.

“If that is Kevin Durant burners, man, he was going off on everyone! People were catching strays, and I mean EVERYONE caught it,” Max Kellerman added.

Whether the man behind the account is KD or not, this issue might drag on for a while. Not many NBA players have been fined by the league for sharing their thoughts online. The most notable one was when Anthony Edwards was fined $40,000 for a derogatory message in 2022.

Kevin Durant Has Stayed Silent On The Issue

Despite being the talk of the town, Kevin Durant has yet to address the current issue that’s surrounding him. Usually active, he’s been curiously silent on X for the last couple of days. His last tweet was a plea to delete the infamous 2011 three-point contest footage, in which he participated.

The NBA has yet to launch a formal investigation into the alleged burner accounts from KD. It’s also unclear if they intend to do so.
