Bruce Brown faced off against his former team during the NBA preseason.

The Denver Nuggets took on the Toronto Raptors for the second matchup of their NBA preseason slate and came out on top.

Despite being a preseason matchup, both teams showed incredible competitiveness as the Nuggets registered a mere four-point win.

Speaking of the matchup, it was a special night for Nuggets’ Bruce Brown, as he faced off against his former team.

Toronto Raptors’ Scottie Barnes mocked Bruce Brown

Since re-signing with the Nuggets this summer, Brown has taken up a vocal leadership role for the organization.

While the 29-year-old seems elated to don the Nuggets jersey again, he recently took a shot at his previous teams.

In essence, Brown called out his former teams for not allowing him to become a ball-handler. This jab seemingly didn’t sit well with Raptors star Scottie Barnes.

Barnes mocked Brown after the Nuggets guard committed an unnecessary turnover while bringing the ball up the court.

Barnes was captured viciously clapping in front of Brown as if it felt like the Raptors star was calling him out for his ball-handling comments.

Bruce Brown’s time away from the Denver Nuggets

In 2023, Brown helped the Nuggets win their first NBA Championship in franchise history. Despite being a fan-favorite, Brown didn’t return to the team for the next season.

Instead, he signed with the Indiana Pacers, but after just 33 games, he was traded to the Raptors.

Brown would spend the next year or so in Toronto, averaging 9.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, before getting traded to the New Orleans Pelicans.

It was another underwhelming stint for Brown as he put up just 8.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game for NOLA.

Brown ultimately returned to the Nuggets after signing a one-year, $3.08 million deal with the franchise.
