Skip Bayless did not hold back after Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs forced Game 7 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
San Antonio kept its season alive with a dominant 118-91 win at home, but Bayless, a well-known Thunder supporter, was more frustrated than impressed.
Rather than crediting the Spurs for their response, he again questioned their physicality, a theme he has pushed throughout the series.
In a furious Skip Bayless X post, the veteran analyst called out Wembanyama and the Spurs after they forced the series back to Oklahoma City.
“These Spurs are a bunch of home front-running, cheap-shotting fake tough guys led by Wembanyama, who sent his goons after the Thunder when he got his a__ kicked in OKC,” Bayless wrote.
San Antonio controlled the game from the start, never letting Oklahoma City recover. The 27-point margin was not just a win; it was a statement.
Even so, Bayless dismissed the performance, suggesting the Spurs had relied on physical play rather than simply beating Oklahoma City cleanly.
Bayless’ frustration is easy to understand given what was at stake. The Thunder entered Game 6 with a 3-2 lead and a chance to close out the series.
Instead, the Spurs delivered their most complete response of the Western Conference Finals. Wembanyama had been under pressure after Oklahoma City handled him in Game 5, but Game 6 flipped the tone.
San Antonio played with more aggression, protected home court, and made sure the Thunder would have to win the series in Oklahoma City.
Now everything comes down to Game 7. Bayless may hate how San Antonio got there, but the Spurs have made sure the Thunder’s path to the NBA Finals is no longer simple.
