Slow-Mo Video of Mac McClung Practicing Car-Jump Dunk Emerges

Orlando Magic guard Mac McClung continues to make headlines after his historic win in the 2025 NBA Slam Dunk Contest.

On Monday, McClung had fans buzzing once again after the Osceola Magic—Orlando's G League team—posted a video of him practicing one of his more popular dunks during the competition.

To recap, McClung made a strong statement with his first dunk of the contest, during which he jumped over a car and grabbed the basketball from the hands of a guy sticking out of the sunroof.

While it's not the first time someone dunked over a car during the Dunk Contest, with Blake Griffin famously doing it back in the 2011 iteration of the event, what McClung did was more impressive since he jumped over the highest part of the car. Griffin, for his part, only jumped over the hood.

Making things even better, the practice video shared by Osceola Magic was in slow motion, perfectly showing McClung perform the car-jump dunk flawlessly while also sticking the landing.

Unsurprisingly, fans were left impressed by the video of Mac McClung, with many even saying that it was better than the one he did during the All-Star event.

"That was actually better than the real one as in the contest, his left foot hit the car on the way down," a commenter wrote. Another one said, "This was better."

A fan added, "Practice dunks were even better."

"Dude can really fly," a follower added.

A fifth social media user shared, "So dope."

McClung became the first player ever to win the Dunk Contest title for three straight years. As a result, he has gotten plenty of praise for making the All-Star event relevant again. NBA legend Dwight Howard even declared him as the "GOAT dunk contest dunker."
