The New York Knicks stunned the San Antonio Spurs with their 14-point comeback win in Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals on Wednesday. While many expected the Spurs to take a lead at home, the Knicks displayed a consistent performance to extend their playoff winning streak to 12 games.

After the loss, Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama offered an encouraging remark, which should give fans plenty of reason for optimism. However, the Knicks are in tremendous form, especially their offense dominated San Antonio. While the Spurs shot 36% from the field and 25.6% from beyond the arc, the Knicks finished with 41.5% FG and 30.6% from the three. Additionally, the Spurs turned the ball over 13 times compared to the Knicks’ 8.
