Spurs vs. Thunder – Game 7 WCF: Game Preview, Odds, and Injury Updates (May 30)

The New York Knicks will have to wait for some more time to find out who they will be facing in the NBA Finals. That’s because the Western Conference Finals have gone right down to the wire. While Shai Gilgeous-Alexander propelled the Oklahoma City Thunder to some emphatic wins, currently, the series stands at 3-3. 

And one has to bow down to the San Antonio Spurs for their exceptional grit and determination. Trailing for the second time in the high-octane series, Victor Wembanyama proved why he is touted as the next big thing in the NBA. Playing in Game 6, Wemby dropped 28 points in 28 minutes to guide the Spurs to a 118-91 victory. Throughout the series, the 22-year-old’s success has been directly related to San Antonio’s win. 

On the flip side, Gilgeous-Alexander had a bad day at the office. Logging in for 28 minutes, the 2-time NBA MVP could only account for 15 points. Interestingly, this was also the lowest SGA score this season. Speaking about whether fatigue has affected him, the 27-year-old stated, “Oh, I’m good. I’m ready to go. Biggest game of my career. And if I lose, my season’s over.” Now then, with the NBA finals on the line, fans will be eager to see how Gilgeous-Alexander can overcome Carter Bryant and Stephon Castle’s challenges as Game 7 approaches.
