Steph Curry and Ayesha Curry Announce New Partnership After Warriors Season
Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

Stephen Curry’s 17th NBA season did not end in the best way. The Golden State Warriors star averaged 26.6 points, 4.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 4.4 three-pointers per game across 43 regular-season appearances.

But his season was marred by multiple stints on the sidelines. Curry dealt with quad soreness, ankle issues and on January 30, a runner’s knee diagnosis that sidelined him for 27 consecutive games. His absence alongside Jimmy Butler’s torn ACL stripped Golden State of the healthy core it envisioned entering the year and the team failed to make the playoffs.

With the offseason now underway, Curry has now turned his attention to family and business ventures away from basketball.

On Thursday, he and his wife Ayesha unveiled their latest project

According to the Charlotte Observer, the Currys are partnering with award-winning chef and restaurateur Michael Mina to open three restaurant concepts inside the Ritz-Carlton in uptown Charlotte. The first to arrive will be Ayesha Curry’s Sweet July Café, which is targeting a July opening.

The café will feature coffee, smoothies, pastries, cakes, cookies and California-inspired healthy menu options influenced by Ayesha’s Jamaican heritage.

Ayesha shared the news on her Instagram stories with the caption: “why hello.”

The Sweet July concept already operates at Regent Santa Monica Beach and Charlotte will become its second location.

The partnership between the Currys and Mina is not new. They previously collaborated on International Smoke, first through a Mina Test Kitchen pop-up before expanding into permanent restaurant locations in San Francisco and Las Vegas. Over time, the relationship evolved into one of the more successful athlete-chef partnerships in hospitality.

This latest Charlotte expansion represents their most ambitious collaboration yet. It also carries personal significance for Curry, who grew up in Charlotte during Dell Curry’s tenure with the Hornets and has remained closely connected to the city throughout his NBA career.
