Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors took care of business on Thursday night. They defeated the New York Knicks, 126-113, marking their fourth win in their last five games. Curry turned in another strong performance with 27 points on 10-of-17 shooting, three rebounds, seven assists, a steal, one block and four triples in 34 minutes of action.

Jonathan Kuminga did not see action again for the Warriors. It has been a tumultuous season for the 23-year-old, who has dropped out of head coach Steve Kerr’s rotation since mid-December. On Thursday, Kuminga officially requested a trade away from the Warriors.

Kuminga signed a two-year contract extension with the Warriors during the offseason. He wasn’t eligible to be traded until Thursday, and the 6-foot-7 forward made his request official at the first opportunity.

Golden State will now need to find a trade package that will get them a considerable return for Kuminga. He is owed $46.8 million over the next two seasons, including this one.

Curry was asked to address Kuminga’s current situation with the Warriors. When asked if this development would be a distraction to the team, the former back-to-back MVP answered defiantly.

"It's not a distraction at all," Curry said. "It's a very unique situation, but our job is to just keep playing, keep winning. It'll resolve itself one way or the other."

"You've been around for the last three, four years," he continued. "We've done it this whole time, so very, very well trained in this area to just play basketball."

Warriors veteran Draymond Green doubled down on Curry’s statement. The former Defensive Player of the Year shut down the notion that Kuminga will be a distraction to the team. “I know how talented he is. I know how good of a teammate he is. I know how good of a person he is,” Green stated.

Jimmy Butler had nothing but good things to say about Kuminga as well. Butler stated that, at the end of the day, “I want JK to be happy.”

“We love JK in this locker room,” said Butler, who has been in his fair share of trade drama. “That’s not going to change. If it happens he’s not being here, we still rock with JK. I speak for everybody.”

The Warriors improved to 23-19 after Thursday’s win over the Knicks. They are eighth in the Western Conference. Curry and Co. will be back in action on Saturday in a home game against LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets.
