Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry recently revealed that he has no intention of retiring anytime soon. Despite being 37 years old, he’ll be entering his 17th NBA season in October—all of which have been with the Warriors.
However, despite his success on the court, he has become a global personality off of it and is branching out into another endeavor, which he previewed on Wednesday. His new animated movie, "GOAT," set to release on Feb. 13, 2026, features a goat named Will, narrated by "Stranger Things" star Caleb McLaughlin. The story follows Will’s journey as an underdog with dreams of making it to the pros.
Curry also has a role in the film as a narrator and spoke to "PEOPLE" about the project.
“I relate to the entire story of 'GOAT' because a lot of my journey resembles Will’s journey,” Curry said. “Being overlooked — underrated, if you will. Just looking for an opportunity but finding your self-confidence through it all and what makes you unique, and understanding that that's good enough.”

Curry posted the video to Instagram on Wednesday with a caption that read, "You’re never too small to dream big. The underdog story you didn’t see coming, in theaters February 2026."
GOAT isn’t just a name, it’s a mindset. Can't wait for you all to see the film my team has been working on, but for now, enjoy the trailer!"
Curry has done brief voiceover cameos before in animated shows like Family Guy and The Simpsons, but he revealed that this time is different—his role is more in-depth, and he’s had to fully embrace it.
"Recording is so different, because you're kind of in your own world," Curry added. "You understand what you're trying to do with what voice you're bringing and bringing energy, but I think the only thing I underestimated with voice acting is how much it’s just full-body — you're putting your entire being into it."
Curry will be joined by several stars, including his wife Ayesha, who also has a role. The film will feature the voices of country star Jelly Roll, Gabrielle Union, Jennifer Hudson, Bobby Lee, and Andrew Santino.
