Stephen A. Smith Sounds Off On Phoenix Suns After Rockets Game

It has been a terrible season thus far for the Phoenix Suns and that continued on Sunday against the Houston Rockets.

Phoenix had lost back-to-back games entering Sunday’s contest against the Rockets after they had gone a four-game winning streak.

They then suffered their worst loss of the season as the Rockets defeated them 148-109 behind 33 points from their young star guard Jalen Green.

Devin Booker led the way for the Suns with 28 points and only two other Suns’ players scored in double digits with Kevin Durant scoring 11 points and Monte Morris adding 10 points off the bench.

To make matters worse for the Suns, Durant suffered an ankle injury during the game and head coach Mike Budenholzer said after the game that Durant will not travel with the team when they begin their three-game road trip on Tuesday when they face the Milwaukee Bucks.

Of course, this is just another terrible blow for the Suns who currently sit 11th in the Western Conference standings and they sit one and a half games behind the Sacramento Kings for the final Play-In spot.

During Sunday’s game, ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith went to social media to call out the Suns.

“And btw……I’m still speechless as to how awful @Suns this year,” Smith posted on X. “I mean, Damn! No sense of pride whatsoever. The @HoustonRockets are real. Especially defensively. But they’ve got the Suns looking like they want no part of being on the court. I’ve got to look at Coach Budenholzer. The players are not buying in. Change has to come in Phoenix. I’ve seen enough.”

Smith did not hold back about the Suns and he brings up multiple great points.

Not only have the Suns looked terrible for most of the season, but their roster has also looked like they are not buying in like Smith said.

Because of their terrible season and with Durant now injured, it is likely that they will miss the playoffs all together and there are going to potentially be some major changes in the offseason.
