Stephen Curry and Jonathan Kuminga shared the court against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Golden State Warriors had no problems dealing with the Los Angeles Lakers during their preseason opener.

While Moses Moody propelled the Warriors to a 111-103 win over the Lakers, most fans were still focused on the performance of Jonathan Kuminga.

Stephen Curry doesn’t want to overanalyze Jonathan Kuminga’s performance

Warriors captain Stephen Curry finished the night with 14 points vs. the Lakers, second only to Moody, who had 19 points.

However, Kuminga struggled to score as he finished the game with just five points to his name. Kuminga did record six rebounds and four assists in the eight-point win.

After the matchup, Curry was asked about his honest thoughts on Kuminga’s performance. The Baby-Faced Assassin’s answer will make reporters think twice before asking the same question in the future.

“It was business as usual. Just come in play, give effort, continue to try to get better. I’m not going to overanalyze every minute he’s out there. It’s not good for anybody,” Curry told the media.

He added: “It’s just, can we win? Can he be a part of that? No matter how it looks, so excited for him to get his legs underneath him and keep, keep building.”

Being the leader of the team, Curry had kept in touch with Kuminga during his contract drama with the organization.

Now, with that over, it’s only natural for Steph to praise his teammate rather than sulk about his performance, especially during a preseason game.

Stephen Curry has no takeaway from Golden State Warriors’ preseason win

After dropping his take on Kuminga, Curry was also asked about his honest take on the Warriors’ 1-0 start to the preseason.

“There’s not much to take away from a preseason game, we didn’t do any personnel scouts or anything. It was just, can get your wind underneath you, get up and down, timing.

“Just get used to the sights and the sounds of a full arena again,” Curry stated.

That’s an excellent approach, as the preseason is there to prepare the players for the regular season. Taking it too seriously could have an adverse impact on the morale of the roster.
