Stephen Curry, Warriors share mutual interest in extension

The report comes after an eventful offseason in which the Warriors aggressively pursued James, only to watch the four-time MVP sign with the 76ers. Golden State also had interest in Giannis Antetokounmpo before the Bucks dealt him to the Heat.

Despite missing on both superstars, the Warriors don’t appear to have any interest in beginning life after Curry just yet.

“That’s why you don’t envision anything until it happens,” Curry said recently at teammate Moses Moody‘s youth camp, via The Athletic, when asked about Golden State’s pursuit of James. “There’s a lot of moving parts.”

The Warriors have largely stood pat this offseason, bringing back Draymond Green while adding Kristaps Porzingis. Jimmy Butler is expected to miss much of next season while recovering from a torn ACL, leaving Curry to once again carry much of the load.

Even so, all signs continue to point toward Curry finishing his career in the only NBA uniform he’s ever worn.

That’s been his preference for years. And based on the latest report, the feeling appears to be mutual.
