The Golden State Warriors have come through a testing offseason and look stronger for it.

One of the big frustrations for the Golden State Warriors is that an injury to Stephen Curry halted their progress last offseason.

A lack of depth meant the Warriors could not hang around against Minnesota until Curry’s possible recovery.

The issue of depth could haunt the Warriors again in the postseason, but it cannot be denied how good their starters can be.

Former NBA player Stephen Jackson has a very strong take, claiming that the Warriors have the best starting five in the whole league.

Jackson says Jonathan Kuminga in Warriors best five

The story that dominated the Warriors summer was Jonathan Kuminga’s contract wrangle. He eventually re-signed with the team.

Kuminga was a DNP at the start of the playoffs and only worked his way into the team after Curry got injured.

Stephen Jackson believes Jonathan Kuminga is part of the Warriors’ best five, with no room for Brandin Podziemski.

Speaking to All The Smoke, Jackson said: “I want to go on record saying this to the world, the Warriors can win the championship.

“This lineup I’m about to say is the best lineup in the league this year.

“Steph at the one, Jimmy at the two, Kuminga at the three, Draymond at the four, Horford at the five.

“That’s probably the best five in the league coming down the playoffs in the fourth quarter that I would trust.”

Jackson was questioned about his selection of Kuminga, and responded confidently that Kuminga would prove him right.

“Yes. Have you seen him play in the preseason? He’s playing well. And you always play better after you get your money. You can just hoop.”

Warriors lineup will change frequently

Teams across the league will change their lineup frequently through the 82-game season, but the Warriors’ five could change up more than most.

The high age of the Warriors players means Steve Kerr will have to rotate smartly, with Al Horford unlikely to play in back-to-backs.

Kerr is also a big fan of Podziemski, while Moses Moody has also earned praise this offseason, although will miss the opener through injury.

The Warriors’ starting lineup is formidable when everybody is healthy, but whether Kuminga is a part of it, we will have to wait and see.
