After a busy few days of the Golden State Warriors with signing players, they are in full swing with their training camp. Now that they are deep into their practices, head coach Steve Kerr has seen potential within his team.
Stephen Curry, Jimmy Butler, and Draymond Green are always the star players, but they have a supporting cast that could be helpful to the team. For coach Kerr, he has seen a role player stand out during training camp.
While most people's eyes are on the Warriors' veterans, the young core is getting overlooked a bit. One of them is Brandin Podziemski, who could be set to become the starting shooting guard alongside Curry in the backcourt.
Despite his prominent role, Podziemski is not getting much of the spotlight. However, that could change because of Kerr's praise for his performances during training camp.
After two seasons with the Warriors, Podziemski has become one of the most reliable players on the roster. He might be young, but he has all the tools to become a massive contributor for the Warriors in the 2025-26 season.
Of course, he will compete with Buddy Hield for the shooting guard spot, but Podziemski has the upper hand with his all-around ability. Sticking with Hield in the starting lineup poses some problems, especially on the defensive end for the backcourt.
It will ultimately come down to Kerr's decision, as he might trust Butler and Green to step up and become point-of-attack defenders. With that, sticking with Hield might not be the best idea, especially when Podziemski has continued to impress.
"BP had an incredible day today. He is looking more poised, more confident with his shot, staying off the refs. Today was NBA official day, so we had three NBA refs to ref the scrimmage, which was great," Kerr said after the Warriors' practice.

"A lot of guys looked good, but BP stood out. I think this is a year when he takes another step."
Ahead of the 2025-26 season, the Warriors have a roster that could surprise people. They might be in trouble against the younger and faster teams because of the team's collective age.
Despite those issues, Kerr knows how to win games and have good seasons with the core players. Curry is still a top point guard despite his advanced age. The same goes for Green, Butler, and Al Horford.

The Western Conference is loaded with talented teams, but the Warriors are good enough team to enter that conversation. They have the talent and the coaching staff to cement themselves.
Golden State's top-level talent are big names, but someone like Podziemski among the Warriors' role players should be able to step up. If they can maintain that, they should be good to go in the 2025-26 season.
