It has been a busy offseason thus far for the Phoenix Suns as they have elected to overhaul their roster this summer after missing the playoffs last season.

Phoenix began their offseason by trading Kevin Durant to the Houston Rockets and they then bought out Bradley Beal’s contract, officially ending their big three era.

Now only Devin Booker remains from their star trio and he is set to be a key piece of their future after they signed him to a massive contract extension this summer.

Phoenix also made some notable additions to their roster as they added Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks and Khaman Maluach in the Durant trade, acquired Mark Williams from the Charlotte Hornets and drafted both Koby Brea and Rasheer Fleming in the second round of the 2025 draft.

While the Suns have already made substantial changes to their roster, more moves could be on the way as multiple players continue to be in trade rumors.

Grayson Allen, Nick Richards named Suns' trade candidates

Because of this, Hoops Wire’s Sam Amico recently named Grayson Allen and Nick Richards as potential trade candidates for the Suns.

“The Suns did a nice job of unloading Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal, because they weren’t going anywhere with either. They will likely explore moving on from Grayson Allen or Nick Richards next,” Amico wrote.

It is clear that the Suns are trying to make their roster younger and they could continue to do so by moving on from both Richards and Allen.

For Allen, he is a great three-point shooter and a solid defender that should entice many teams around the league, especially contenders.

The only downfall for Allen is his contract which may be a cause for concern for the Suns if they are looking to move him.

For Richards, he is likely to see a cut in minutes next season with the additions of Maluach and Williams which has opened the door for the Suns to move on from him.

There are quite a few teams around the NBA searching for a starting-caliber center and Richards could be one that becomes available at some point before next season’s trade deadline.

While both players could be moved, the Suns could also keep them on their roster and try to surprise some people around the league as they try to compete for a Play-In spot.
