The Suns are converting Duop Reath’s Exhibit 10 contract to a two-way deal, confirms Michael Scotto of HoopsHype ( Twitter link).
John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 indicated last week that Reath would be converted to a two-way pact.
A 6’9″ center from South Sudan, Reath spent most of the past three years as a frontcourt reserve for the Trail Blazers. He underwent season-ending foot surgery in January and was subsequently traded to — and waived by — the Hawks in February.
Reath, 30, holds career averages of 6.2 points and 2.6 rebounds in 146 regular season appearances (13.3 minutes per game). His shooting line is .451/.357/.777.
Reath signed his Exhibit 10 deal with Phoenix in late September, just before training camp. He appeared in four preseason games with the Suns this fall, averaging 5.5 PPG and 1.5 RPG in 11.5 MPG.
The Suns created a pair of two-way openings on Monday after they officially waived guard Koby Brea and forward CJ Huntley. Reath will occupy one of those spots, as expected.
