The Suns have exercised their fourth-year option on Ryan Dunn and their third-year option on Khaman Maluach, the team announced today (Twitter links).

Both players were already set to earn guaranteed salaries this season. The moves will lock in Dunn’s $5,025,553 salary and Maluach’s $6,617,160 cap hit for 2027/28.

The 28th overall pick in the 2024 draft, Dunn has been a rotation regular in his first two seasons with the Suns, averaging 6.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per game across 144 regular season appearances, including 60 starts. The 6’7″ small forward’s shooting slash line over that span is .440/.319/.488.

Known for his defense and athleticism, Dunn will now be eligible for a rookie scale extension next offseason, ahead of his fourth year in the NBA.

Maluach, a 7’1″ center from South Sudan, averaged 3.0 PPG, 2.9 RPG and 0.7 BPG in 8.9 MPG in 46 regular season appearances as a rookie in 2025/26. The 20-year-old big man had a strong Summer League showing and is expected to play more in year two with Mark Williams sidelined due to a shoulder injury.

Dunn and Maluach were the only players the Suns had to make rookie scale option decisions on this fall.
