Terry Rozier Trade: How Does it Affect 76ers?

Rozier is a familiar foe for the Sixers, as he began his career with the Boston Celtics. The 29-year-old is in the midst of a career year with the Hornets, putting up averages of 23.2 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 6.6 APG. 

As a Philadelphia native, Lowry also has connections to the Sixers. Before signing with the Miami Heat back in 2021, the former All-Star was connected to the Sixers in trade rumors. Now with the Hornets, it appears the veteran point guard could be on the move again before the season is over. 

The Heat are always a team to watch in the East, and they just improved. Similar to when the Indiana Pacers traded for Pascal Siakam, the Sixers have to worry about the middle-class teams in the conference continuing to get better. 

At the moment, the Sixers have a decent lead over the Heat in the standings. Miami is currently in sixth place with a 24-19 record. They trail the third-place Sixers by five-and-a-half games. 

By the time the Sixers play the Heat again, Rozier should be fully acclimated with his new teams. The two squads are set to face off on February 14th, the final game before the All-Star break. These teams last played on Christmas Day, with the Heat securing a six-point victory. 

Bringing in Rozier gives Miami more offensive firepower alongside Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, and Tyler Herro. He has the potential to be an impactful addition that helps them on their quest back to the NBA Finals.
