When the Charlotte Hornets traded away LaMelo Ball this offseason, one of the reasons they did was because of the shooting of rookie Kon Knueppel last season. But after shattering the NBA rookie three-point record and setting a single-season Hornets record as well with 273 triples, Knueppel has yet to appear in 2026-27.
That looks set to change soon, with the second-year pro getting assigned to the Greensboro Swarm for October 29th’s practice and the team possibly eyeing their Halloween and NBA Cup matchup with the Detroit Pistons for his season debut.
Knueppel was a bit of a polarizing selection with the fourth-overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft, but he was everything Charlotte could have asked for and more for the majority of the season. He was hampered down the final stretch of the year with a back issue before picking up a hamstring problem in training camp. Even without Knueppel (or Coby White), the Hornets have gotten off to a decent 3-2 start in their first campaign without LaMelo Ball on the roster since 2020.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the NBA players to hit the most three-pointers in a single season for each franchise can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
