Happy 58th birthday to three-time NBA champion, 1993-94 second-team All-Rookie honoree and 1995-96 Sixth Man of the Year, Toni Kukoc!
Born in Split, Croatia, Kukoc began his professional career playing in Europe and caught the attention of the NBA thanks to his contributions to the Yugoslavia national team. He made his NBA debut with the Chicago Bulls in 1993-94 and was a key role player in the second Michael Jordan three-peat of the 90’s.
While he never made an All-Star game, he played in 13 NBA seasons, averaging 11.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists-per-game as an NBA player, he was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame for his international career in 2017, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in 2021 and was inducted into the Bulls Ring of Honor in 2023.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to be named Sixth Man of the Year since the award was first given in 1982-83 can you name in six minutes?
