The New York Knicks are not going to be major players in the 2025 Draft, picking late in the second round.

In the 2025 NBA Draft, the New York Knicks have to wait until pick 50. The Knicks do not own a first round pick after trading it to the Brooklyn Nets for Mikal Bridges.

And as they prepare to take a late second round flier, the Knicks are doing their research. According to HoopsHype’s workout tracker, the Knicks have brought in two players to take a close look at, the fewest of any team in the NBA.

Let’s take a look at the players on the Knicks’ radar…

Mohamed Diawara

Mohamed Diawara’s physical attributes and young age make him a highly intriguing option for teams looking for a player to develop. He boasts a 7ft 4″ wingspan, and last year won a gold medal with France at the under-20 Eurobasket.

Diawara is passionate about one particular aspect of his game. Speaking to NBADraft.net, he explained: “I think it’s defense, for sure. For the second question, I think it’s defense. I mean, you, you cannot win games if you’re not defending.”

He adds that he is an ‘all-around player’ with a high IQ, who will work hard to disrupt opponents and use his physical strengths for the betterment of his team.

Jonathan Pierre

Jonathan Pierre is a US based prospect who is two-years older than Diawara and is more ready to contribute now. He took part in the G League Elite Camp last month.

He was named to the MVC All Conference First Team in 2025, following in the footsteps of Knicks player Landry Shamet, who made it in 2016-17, and Fred VanVleet a year earlier.

The two players are interesting options for the Knicks, and the franchise could look to bring more players in for workouts ahead of the NBA Draft.
