The Minnesota Timberwolves will begin their NBA playoffs run on Saturday on the road against the Denver Nuggets. The Timberwolves are not just looking to make it back to the Western Conference Finals for a third straight year. They want to break through and reach the NBA Finals this time around.
They will have a tough task at hand immediately with a first-round matchup against Denver, but they have every reason to feel confident with Anthony Edwards leading the charge.
The 24-year-old superstar has delivered another excellent season as Minnesota’s primary scoring option. Across 61 games, Edwards has averaged 28.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.7 assists while shooting 48.9% from the field and 39.9% from beyond the arc, producing elite efficiency at high volume.
Edwards is listed as questionable for Game 1 with right knee injury maintenance. As he focuses on recovery and tries to be healthy enough to suit up, he also took time to announce a major career decision.
Edwards revealed in a collaborated post with Topps that he has signed an exclusive trading card deal with the company. “IT’S OFFICIAL: We’re excited to announce that we’ve signed Anthony Edwards to an exclusive trading card deal. Welcome to the family, Ant! His first autograph cards will appear in Bowman Basketball! ,” the post read.
With Edwards’ status as one of the faces of the NBA continuing to rise, this partnership further elevates his profile.
He now joins a growing list of Topps athletes that includes Stephen Curry, Victor Wembanyama and Cooper Flagg, placing him among some of the biggest names in the sport. It is well deserved. Across just six NBA seasons, Edwards is already a four-time All-Star and two-time All-NBA selection.
Unfortunately, he is ineligible for awards this season after appearing in only 61 games and losing his appeal to remain eligible. Even so, his impact on the Timberwolves remains undeniable.
Minnesota’s hopes of making a deep postseason run rest heavily on Edwards’ availability, and the team remains optimistic he will be ready when it matters most.
