Minnesota Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert is investing in a health-conscious cafe in Northeast Minneapolis.
Parcelle Organics announced Wednesday that Gobert is joining its team as "a partner, collaborator, and investor."
"Rudy’s commitment to health and wellness has been the cornerstone of his professional basketball career and it aligns with our mission at Parcelle," the business says in an Instagram post.
This isn't the restaurant's first partnership with a professional athlete.
Last summer, Parcelle teamed up with Twins pitcher Joe Ryan on a smoothie called the "Field of Greens."
Ryan, a California native, said at the time that he had been "searching for a place that truly matched my commitment to clean eating and peak performance" and found it in Parcelle, which has been compared to organic cafes in the Los Angeles area, like Erewhon.
Local restaurateur Kamal Mohamed opened Parcelle in January 2024 at the corner of University and Hennepin avenues, on the same block as StepChld, his former Ethiopian-inspired restaurant that's since been converted into a Nashville Coop, one of Mohamed's other concepts.
He's now planning new Parcelle locations in Wayzata, downtown Minneapolis, and the North Loop.
Mohamed told the Minnesota Star Tribune that getting Gobert, a frequent customer, on board was key to the expansion.
“I don’t think we would be able to expand if it wasn’t for his time and investment into it,” he said.
Mohamed also recently launched PaperBoy, a sandwich shop, in downtown Minneapolis.
