The Minnesota Timberwolves are expected to resign guard Ayo Dosunmu to a five-year $112 million extension according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The deal comes one day after the Timberwolves dealt forward Julius Randle in a three team trade involving the Brooklyn Nets and Chicago Bulls.

Dosunmu was a trade deadline addition from the Bulls who was acquired for Rob Dillingham and four second round picks. He immediately made a major impact for the Timberwolves averaging 15.6 points in 29.2 minutes during the team’s playoff run.

Dosunmu also turned in a historic performance in the postseason scoring 43 points in Game 4 against the Denver Nuggets while Anthony Edwards dealt with injury.

With Dosunmu now returning to the team, the Timberwolves will look to continue to add to its roster with the flexibility created by the Randle trade.
