Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony set a Madison Square Garden record in January 2014. Anthony scored an incredible 62 points against the Charlotte Bobcats, including making 23 of 35 shots from the field. The Knicks won in a blowout, 125-96.
As a member of the Miami Heat, LeBron James scored 61 points in a game against the Bobcats in March 2014. James made eight three-pointers and led the Heat to an easy 124-107 victory.
Just a few weeks ago, New Orleans Pelicans superstar Anthony Davis scored a career-high 59 points against the Detroit Pistons. The 59 points Davis put up in the Pels’ 111-106 victory also set the mark for most points scored in a game this NBA season. Oh, and for good measure, Davis added 20 rebounds as well.
Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving is a special talent, and never was that more apparent than in game last season against the San Antonio Spurs. Irving scored 57 points and made the game-tying three-pointer that sent the game to overtime. The Cavs defeated the Spurs that night 128-125.
Although his best days are likely behind him, there was a time when Deron Williams was one of the best point guards in the NBA. In fact, in 2012, Williams set the New Jersey Nets record for most points in a game with 57 against the Bobcats.
Considering DeMarcus Cousins is on their roster, it’s hard to believe the Sacramento Kings aren’t a better team. Earlier this season, “Boogie” scored 56 points against the Charlotte Hornets, but in typical Kings fashion, Sacramento lost in double overtime, 129-128.
In January 2015, Kyrie Irving torched the Trail Blazers for 55 points. In fact, Irving scored more than half of the Cavs' points, as Cleveland (with LeBron James out of the lineup) only put up 99 total points that night. The former Duke player made 11 of 19 three-point shots en route to a Cleveland victory.
With Kevin Durant out with an injury, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook scored 54 points in a game against the Pacers last season. Despite the incredible outpour of scoring from Westbrook, the Thunder came up 12 points short and suffered a bitter defeat.
Thunder forward Kevin Durant has had his share of 50-point games, but he set his career high at 54 points in a game against the Warriors in January 2014. Durant went 19-28 from the field, and OKC defeated Stephen Curry and the Warriors 127-121.
What is there left to say about Stephen Curry? The best basketball player on the planet scored 54 points in a 2013 game against the Knicks in New York. Curry went 18-28 from the field and hit 11 three-point shots. Yet somehow, some way, the Warriors lost the to Knicks that night by the score of 109-105.
Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler has established himself as a true NBA superstar this season. Butler scored a career-high 53 points in an overtime victory over the 76ers this past January.
This past Halloween, Stephen Curry made every Pelicans player fear guarding him, as he put up 53 points in New Orleans. Including free throws, Curry only missed 10 shots all night on his to way another 50-point game. Golden State won 134-120.
Hornets point guard Kemba Walker set a franchise record with 52 points in a double-overtime win for Charlotte over the Utah Jazz this past January. Walker hit 16 of 33 shots and made 14 of 15 free throws en route the Hornets' 124-119 victory.
The second of the “Splash Brothers” in Golden State, shooting guard Klay Thompson did something absolutely remarkable in game last season against the Kings. Thompson scored an NBA record 37 points in one quarter. Klay finished the game with 52 points in total, and the Warriors easily beat the Kings.
Although he’s near the end of his career, point guard Mo Williams turned back the clock in a game last season against the Indiana Pacers. The former Timberwolves guard scored 52 points and led Minnesota to a 111-106 victory.
Scoring a then career-best 52 points, Kevin Durant led the Thunder to a 117-114 overtime win over the Dallas Mavericks in January 2013. Incredibly, Durant made all 21 of the free throws he attempted that night.
Although he might be the oldest player in the NBA right now, there was a time when Andre Miller was a younger man. As a member of the Trail Blazers in 2010, Miller scored 52 points as Portland defeated the Dallas Mavericks 114-112. Miller made 22 shots from the field that night.
On Feb. 4, 2015, Stephen Curry had himself another 50-point game, this time against the Dallas Mavericks. Steph hit 10 three-pointers and ended the game with a grand total of 51 points, as the Warriors won, 128-124.
On Feb. 19, Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard scored a career-high 51 points against the Golden State Warriors. Lillard hit nine three-pointers, and the Blazers handed Golden State only its fifth loss of the season by the score of 137-105.
The way Stephen Curry makes three-point shots, it’s surprising he doesn’t have 50-point games more often. Curry scored 51 points, including hitting on 10 threes, against the Orlando Magic in February, and the “Dubs” easily picked up another win.

Kevin Love scored a career-high 51 points as a member of the Timberwolves in 2012. Still, Love’s 51 points weren’t enough as Minnesota lost to Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder in double overtime.
Although his career has largely been a disappointment, Toronto Raptors small forward Terrence Ross showed off the talent that made him a lottery pick in game against the Clippers in 2014. Ross scored 51 points and hit 10 three-point shots, but it just wasn’t enough for the Raptors that night. The Clips won 126-118.
Yes, you read that correctly. Corey Brewer once scored 51 points in an NBA game. As a member of the Timberwolves in 2014, Brewer put up 51 points on 30 shots in a late-season game against the Houston Rockets. Behind a superstar performance from a career role player, the T’Wovles defeated the Rockets 112-110.
Since the All-Star Break this season, Damian Lillard has been on fire, and it's continued into March. Against the Toronto Raptors at the start of the month, as he netted 50 points in a 117-115 victory for the Blazers by connecting on 16-28 from the field and going 12-13 from the line. Lillard has been huge for Portland of late.
James Harden is a pure scorer, so it's no surprise he's had more than 50-point game in his career. This season, he scored 50 against the 76ers in November, making six three-pointers and 16 free throws in a 116-114 victory over the lowly Sixers.
