The Boston Celtics are always looking at ways to improve their already championship-caliber roster. Jayson Tatum will be back for the entire season, but Jaylen Brown may not. There have been countless rumors indicating he may be on the way out of Boston. The main rumor is a potential Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, but in the event they come up short there, Murphy may be the best option. Celtics trade rumors indicate they would send Brown to the Pelicans and Murphy along with Zion Williamson to Boston.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers and their fans are always wanting more. This may be the offseason they finally get it. Their roster is a complete unknown heading into the 2026-27 season. Austin Reaves and LeBron James are both free agents, with James potentially moving on for the final years of his career. Adding Murphy next to Luke Doncic would give the Lakers a perfect blend of size and skill to push them up the ranks in the West. This would likely need to be a three-team trade, as would any Lakers trade rumors, with them currently having very little tradeable draft capital.

Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers trade rumors for Murphy makes a ton of sense. Tyrese Haliburton will be making his return after missing the entire 2025-26 season with a ruptured Achilles. The Pacers are weakened at the wing positions after trading away Bennedict Mathurin in a midseason trade for Ivica Zubac, so adding Murphy would fill that role nicely. A starting five including Murphy, Haliburton, Zubac, and Pascal Siakam would be one of the best in the Eastern Conference.
