The Golden State Warriors are coming off of what could be considered a roller coaster season. They started the regular season as one of the best teams in the NBA, but were also as low as the No. 12 seed. However, once the Warriors traded for Jimmy Butler, they appeared to be a completely different team.
The Warriors captured a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament and defeated the Memphis Grizzlies to earn a first-round matchup against the No. 2-seeded Houston Rockets. While they beat them and advanced, it took a toll, having gone the full seven games, leaving little time for a turnaround before taking on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Warriors' hopes of winning another title were dashed when Stephen Curry went down with a hamstring injury. While they won the game, they would go on to lose the next four and were eliminated.
Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga was benched down the stretch of the regular season, but was called upon following the injury to Curry. In games two through five, Kuminga averaged 24.2 points per game and likely bolstered his stock before becoming a restricted free agent.
Two teams from the Eastern Conference have emerged as possible suitors for Kuminga.
"The Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat are reportedly candidates for a potential sign-and-trade for Jonathan Kuminga," per NBA insider Michael Scotto.

Kuminga didn't fit well playing alongside Butler, who has a similar skill set minus the ability to facilitate. The best chance the Warriors have at adding considerable talent this offseason is through Kuminga and the sign-and-trade possibility. Rumors have circulated that they'll look to add a big man, and Nikola Vucevic could be on the table.
While Vucevic will turn 35 in October and is far from a defensive anchor, his style of play and shooting ability make him an excellent fit for this Warriors offense. He's coming off a year in which he averaged 18.5 points per game, 10.1 rebounds, and a career-best 40.2% from three.
