Tyrese Haliburton Reveals Career Goal

On Saturday, Tyrese Haliburton finally showed French fans that he's one of the best basketball players in the world. He won a gold medal with Team USA in France in 2024, but recorded only eight total points in three games played and did not suit up for the final match against France.

On Thursday, the Indiana Pacers played the San Antonio Spurs in Paris, but Haliburton only offered 13 points in the 30-point loss. However, he and the Pacers got revenge on Saturday, beating the Spurs 136-98, and he led the Pacers with an incredibly efficient 28 points.

As far as the best point guards in the NBA go, Stephen Curry, Luka Doncic, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are the top three, although only Curry is American, and he is 36 years old.

By the time Los Angeles hosts the Games in 2028, Haliburton and Jalen Brunson will certainly be the two best American-born true point guards in the NBA. LaMelo Ball and Ja Morant may give them a run for their money, although neither are as comfortable in front of a microphone as Brunson or Haliburton, which does matter when representing the country on an international stage.

Haliburton was asked after the game if he was looking forward to the next Games, and the All-NBA guard made it clear he wants to win gold again.

"Looking forward to '28, if I'm able to get that opportunity, that would mean a lot to me," said Haliburton. "But it's just really cool to see where the game is progressing. And, you know, I'm glad I was a part of the team in '24. Hopefully, I get that chance at '28 as well."

With France emerging as a basketball powerhouse, Team USA will have their work cut out for them again, and having Haliburton, who's been to the Olympics before, on the roster could be a massive advantage.
