San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama didn't last long on the court against the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday. With 9:18 left in the first quarter, the Spurs star suffered an unfortunate collision with NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks star drove to the basket, and their knees made contact.

The French basketball star held his right knee as he was on the floor. The Spurs had no choice but to send him back to the locker room to check on his apparent knee injury. For the remainder of the opening quarter, Wembanyama stayed in the locker room. The big man was only on the floor for two minutes.

Fortunately for the Spurs, Wembanyama returned to the game and started in the second quarter. He made his way back to the bench before the start of the second period.

Wembanyama couldn't do anything against the Bucks in the first quarter. He had no points, rebounds, assists or blocks. No further update about his apparent knee injury has been reported.

This season, Wembanyama has appeared in 26 games, but has only started in 17. He has averaged 24.0 points, 11.0 rebounds and 2.7 blocks. The Spurs have taken a cautious approach in managing the big man to avoid serious injuries. This is why he's had a minutes restriction, playing only 29.0 minutes per game.

This is the first regular-season meeting between the Spurs and Bucks. The two teams will face each other twice. Last season, San Antonio split the season series against Milwaukee with a 1-1 record.
