Warriors Bracing For Unfortunate Steph Curry Injury News on Wednesday

After squeaking by the Houston Rockets in seven games, the Golden State Warriors suffered a potentially devastating injury as All-NBA guard Steph Curry left the court with an injury.

Despite missing Curry for most of the final three quarters, the Warriors defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves, 99-88 in Minneapolis on Tuesday.

Curry went to the locker room with just over eight minutes remaining, holding his hamstring as he walked into the tunnel. The former Davidson guard was unable to return, and coach Steve Kerr initially ruled him day-to-day.

With an MRI expected on Wednesday, the Warriors are not encouraged by what they have seen and anticipate Curry to miss multiple games, per Clutch Points' Brett Siegel.

"JUST IN: The Warriors are bracing for Stephen Curry's hamstring injury to be a multi-game absence, league sources told @ClutchPoints," Siegel wrote on X. "More updates to come later today when Curry's MRI results come back."

Curry only missed 12 games during the 2024-25 regular season, most recently sidelined for a few games in March with a pelvic contusion.

Despite missing a majority of the Game 1 win, Curry still finished with 13 points on 5-of-9 shooting, one rebound and one assist. Buddy Hield led the way in scoring for Golden State for a second-straight playoff game, tallying 24 points on 7-of-19 shooting and eight rebounds.

Although nothing has been confirmed as of yet, losing Curry, the NBA's all-time leading 3-point shooter, for multiple games could be trouble for the Warriors. But Jimmy Butler, acquired at the trade deadline, has proven he can lead a team to a deep postseason run.

The Warriors will face the Timberwolves in Game 2 on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. ET.
