The Golden State Warriors are in action on Thursday night. They host a Jalen Brunson-less New York Knicks side at Chase Center. The Warriors are looking to make it back-to-back wins after their 119-97 blowout victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday night.
The Warriors have been relatively healthy of late. The only first-team player on the injury report is Seth Curry, who is dealing with left sciatic nerve irritation. On Sunday, the team announced that Curry will need another two weeks before he is re-evaluated.
The Warriors were dealt some bad news in Thursday’s game. Power forward Gui Santos was forced to exit in the first quarter and was unable to return.
Santos has been a key rotation player for the Warriors of late. The 6-foot-7 power forward has played in nine straight games for Golden State. During that stretch, Santos has produced averages of 5.0 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 17.2 minutes off the bench.
Unfortunately, Golden State lost Santos in Thursday’s game against the Knicks. He left the contest in the opening quarter. It was later revealed that Santos had sustained a left ankle sprain.
The Warriors then announced that Santos has been ruled out for the rest of the contest.
“Gui Santos is out for the remainder of tonight's game,” Warriors PR posted on X.

With Santos sidelined, the likes of Al Horford and Trayce Jackson-Davis are expected to pick up some extra minutes against the Knicks. This could be the case for both players moving forward if Santos is forced to miss time because of his ankle injury.
The Warriors’ next game is on Saturday. They host the Charlotte Hornets at home. At this point, Santos’ status for that contest is uncertain. Golden State should be able to provide an update on the 23-year-old forward after the game or on Friday.
