The Western Conference Semifinals are underway, and the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves series is now squared up at 1-1.
The Warriors were fortunate to secure a Game 1 victory after Stephen Curry logged just 13 minutes after suffering a hamstring strain early in the game.
Game 2 wasn't as good for Golden State, who suffered a 117-93 loss to the Timberwolves.
The offense wasn't there without Curry. Simply put, 93 points can't happen for the Warriors if their defense isn't going to produce at an elite level.
While there were bright spots -- such as Jonathan Kuminga stepping up in Curry's absence -- the loss wasn't all that encouraging.
The second-round series is now headed to San Francisco for Game 3, and one thing is clear: Golden State needs more offense.
Jimmy Butler didn't have a high-scoring affair to carry the Warriors, and he shouldn't be expected to shoulder that burden.
The overall offense has to come from the entire squad. Butler is the hub of the offense, and he will quarterback the team on that side of the ball, but he's not planning to go score 40 points.
On NBA on TNT, Kenny Smith kept it blunt and clear.
"Right now, they need help," Smith said.

Smith isn't wrong, either. The Warriors need help offensively. Without that help, they likely won't be able to win a game until Curry returns -- if that happens.
Butler needs to lead the way, with help from the squad, to lift the Warriors to another win and prolong the series, giving Curry enough time to get healthy and giving the club a chance to advance in the playoffs.
