The Golden State Warriors have made a solid start to the 2026-27 NBA season, opening their campaign with a 5-3 record. After losing their first three games of the season, the Warriors have remained competitive behind Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, and are now on a five-game win streak. Their 116-113 win over the Phoenix Suns on Monday also showed their ability to respond after falling behind by 17 points.
Golden State’s impressive start has come despite dealing with several absences. Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody are recovering from knee injuries, while Kristaps Porzingis has been sidelined by illness. Gui Santos has also dealt with left knee tendinitis, Al Horford has missed time because of back issues, and Brandon Williams recently appeared on the injury report with a quadriceps contusion.
Now, Golden State is losing another player who had been part of its developmental organization. ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that guard-forward Dalen Terry has agreed to a two-year contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Terry was playing for the Santa Cruz Warriors after Golden State waived him on Oct. 17, following training camp and five preseason appearances.

Oklahoma City is bringing Terry in to add depth on the wing as injuries continue to affect its roster. Jalen Williams is recovering from a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle, Cason Wallace underwent surgery for a torn labrum, and Chet Holmgren is expected to miss eight to 10 weeks with a patellar tendon tear. Terry gives the Thunder another available perimeter option while those players recover.
Terry, 24, was selected 18th overall by the Chicago Bulls in the 2022 NBA Draft after playing college basketball at Arizona. He spent most of his first three-plus NBA seasons in Chicago before joining the Philadelphia 76ers last season. Across 218 career regular-season games, he has averaged 3.5 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists. He also averaged 6.4 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists in five preseason games with the Warriors.
